The Mark VIII was made from 1993 to 1998. This latest (and for now, last) generation of the Mark series is powered by the 4.6 liter modular motor. This motor is similar to the one used in Mustang and puts out either 280 or 290 horsepower. There is much debate as to which year cars had which horsepower rating. All versions of the MK8 are equipped with the 4 speed AODE transmission (although several people are working on grafting in a 5-speed manual), ABS, and traction control. These cars utilized the air-ride suspension used on the previous Mark VII.
