There is only one thing I have found that only the dealer has. It is the solenoid installation kit. This is a very handy kit. It includes several O-rings and a brass fitting. The brass fitting can be used on the dryer, as can the O-ring that fits it. Before I replace a bag or a solenoid, I put in new seals. It's cheap insurance. I have purchased several air bags from BagMaster Air. They also supply rebuilt compressor. I have spoken to several people there and they are very helpful. Give them a call. Their prices beat the dealer by a mile any day and the bags are better than stock. You will find their web site on my links page. Salvage Not much I can say here. Your local bone yard. I am wary of salvage air bags and do not recommend them. Compressors are iffy. Check the mileage on the car. If it is under 80,000 miles, the compressor is probably usable. Check the overall condition of the car. If it looks well kept, then the compressor may be worth it. A neglected car will have a neglected ride system, which is bad hoodoo. Air lines are a great wrecking yard item. The dealer wants a first born child for an air line. The junk yard might not even know what it is and charge whatever you offer. Just be careful taking it out. The air ride computer is also a good salvage item. Unless it has been in the elements, it should be fine. Also, any mounting hardware is much cheaper than the dealer. |
